Why This Cause…
Back in 2009, I found myself living in one of those cities you hear about—high murder rates, tough streets. It was a far cry from the quiet suburbs where I grew up. There I was, a thirty-something, asking questions that seemed simple but had complex answers. Like, how does someone end up on a street corner selling themselves? It wasn't something I saw growing up. I needed to understand.
We were a small group, about 10 to 12 of us, young and maybe a bit naive, trying to start a church and wrap our heads around the issues of our new neighborhood. To get a grasp on human trafficking, we invited speakers. One was a political activist who laid out the legal maze—how state and federal laws didn't quite line up.
But it was the other speaker, a woman who'd lived through the darkness of high-end prostitution, who really opened our eyes. She talked about the daily life, the control, the exploitation. "98% of the girls on the corner are enslaved," she told us. And then she said something I'll never forget: "No 5-year-old little girl dreams of growing up and doing this." That hit me hard.
It wasn't a moment of heroism or a sudden call to arms. It was a quiet realization that something was deeply wrong, and maybe, just maybe, there was something I could do about it. That's why this cause is so important to us at Wildly Charged. It’s not about being heroes; it’s about doing what’s right, even when it’s hard.
The Aftercare Gap:
Bridging Rescue to Recovery
Education and awareness are foundational, truly. Angie and I have always believed in the power of being informed. Yet, through our journey, we've realized a hard truth: rescuing individuals from the streets or dire situations is just the beginning. Without comprehensive aftercare programs, the cycle often repeats itself, leading to a revolving door that pulls people back into the very circumstances they were rescued from.
So, you might wonder, as we did, how does one identify and support aftercare programs that genuinely turn lives around? It's a vital question. We've spent time researching and connecting with aftercare facilities that offer more than just a safe haven. The ones that stand out to us provide not only basic human care and skill training for alternative employment but also deeply invest in the emotional, spiritual, and psychological healing of survivors, alongside essential family support.
Herein lies the bottleneck: there simply aren't enough robust aftercare programs to match the scale of individuals trapped in exploitative networks. It's this gap between rescue and sustainable freedom that we see as a critical issue needing attention and action.

Our 10-Year Goal:
Change 20,000 Lives
Here's the thing: at 45, staring down the road to 55, I've got a goal that some might say is a bit out there. We're aiming to make a real dent in the fight against human trafficking, hoping to reach and rehabilitate 20,000 lives touched by this darkness. It's a big number, I know. But it starts with something as simple as imagining a product that belongs in every home, something good and necessary, like our Electrolyte Hydration.
Why this product? Well, we believe it's something every family can benefit from, something that could easily find its place on kitchen countertops across the country. It's not just about creating a successful product for the sake of it. The dream here is to use that success as a vehicle to support our bigger mission.
Sure, the idea of our product in every American kitchen is a lofty one, and the financial benefits could be huge. But honestly, that's not the point. The real win would be in hitting our mark in changing lives, using what we've built to make a meaningful impact. That's the kind of success we're after.
Looking Ahead:
Our Vision for the Next 20 Years
At the heart of it all, we're building something we believe in—a business model not just designed to succeed, but to make a real difference. As we look 20 years into the future, our aspiration goes beyond the present, aiming to cultivate a family of companies that echo the impact and ethos of Wildly Charged.
It's about laying down a blueprint for businesses that not only thrive in their markets but also enrich the lives they touch, creating a ripple effect of positive change. This vision is our guiding star, a reminder of the potential to influence the world for the better, one step at a time.
So, as we continue on this journey, let's not forget the essence of what drives us. Stay Wild, Stay Charged – not just as a motto for our products, but as a mantra for life, inspiring us to keep pushing boundaries, exploring new horizons, and making meaningful contributions to our world.
